I
was able to get my hands on a brand new 2004
17" Powerbook for a few days. This gave me a chance
to run a few simple tests to see what it was capable of. I
used to own the 1st rev. 17" Powerbook which had a 1GHz
CPU and no L2 cache from memory - compared to this model,
the 1.5GHz definitely feels much snappier. Of course this
was also pre OS 10.3 Panther so I will not be too harsh on
the 1GHz model.
Note:
all game results were recorded using stock install settings
-the only thing that changed was the screen resolution. Also,
the competing graphics results were
obtained from my dual 1.5GHz MDD.
